I reviewed this site back in 2006 and had this to say: "This brand new queer video production company is really making a big wave in the porn industry right now, and I feel pretty good about that given the sex positive nature of what they are doing. In the words of the owner Shine Louise Houston, 'There is power in creating images, and for... a woman of color and a queer to take that power. ...I don't find it exploitative; I think it's necessary.' The first major production of this company is a movie called "The Crash Pad" which manages to capture bio female lesbian passion really well. The actors run the gamut from butch to femme, and the interaction is tasteful but HOT HOT HOT. You can see numerous quicktime previews on the site, as well as picture galleries.... Huge love for this startup company! It is always good to run across some real lesbian erotica!" In the years since this initial review, this video production company has been quite busy expanding and improving on the original launch. "The Crash Pad" has expanded into an award winning series online, and it has been joined by multiple DVD launches including such titles as "Superfreak" and "Champion". Shine Louise Houston continues to heat up the content and challenge ideas about sexuality by blending trans and lesbian genres into a truly genderqueer experience. The site still features trailers and photo galleries, as well as links to where to purchase DVDs or subscribe to their websites. You can also find information about screenings, affiliate programs, and reviews. I'm even more enamored with them four years later.
